Grant's Farm
April 18, 2004

After I decided to leave St. Louis and move to Arizona, I visited a lot of my favorite places to film them for the last time. Grant's Farm holds a special place in my heart. It isn't really a farm at all... it's an intimate wildlife preserve. It is the property where Ulysses S. Grant used to live, and was later purchased by the Busch family of St. Louis (as in Busch Gardens). They did what they do best and created a small zoo. What it lacks in size it makes up for in ambience and aesthetics. This is where they keep their famous clydesdales (which I didn't capture on film - they're in a separate part of the park that I didn't go to that day), and there's even a small museum. Admission is free (you only have to pay for parking), helping to make this a favorite hangout for the locals.

Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo
Well, Daddy didn't take me to the zoo, I took myself. Though Mommy did take me to this zoo once when she visited in 2001. Actually, I took her. Okay, regardless of how I got there or who took whom, I did go to the zoo, zoo, zoo.
