Casa Grande Ruins National Monument
February 5, 2008

I was considering applying for a job with this national park. I knew this was a small site, and thought I should check it out first, get a feel for it, and see how far a drive it is. The drive was beautiful but took 45 minutes in non-rush hour traffic. Casa Grande is roughly halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. The town has been built around these ruins. It was interesting pulling into the parking lot of these ruins by turning at the Super Wal-mart! I didn't have a good feeling about working there, but enjoyed my visit. Acting on Mark's request, I then made a quick stop at Picacho Peak State Park to snap a couple photos of the mountains.
